Any tips for running in cold weather?
Remember, you are running in a 5K in December in Wisconsin! We will do all we can to help you stay safe, but please be careful. Here are some helpful tips on running in cold weather from active.com:
- Dress in layers: Wearing several thin layers of clothing helps trap warm air between layers. This includes socks!
- Wear the right fabrics: Avoid wearing cotton--it has very little insulating ability.
- Wear a protective shell: Wear some type of water proofed windbreaker or shell to protect you from the wind and precipitation.
- Cover Exposed Skin: A hat and gloves are an absolute necessity once the temperature dips below freezing.
